Many of our visitors book multi-day events, taking advantage of our on-site accommodation and home style cooking, just an hour from Melbourne's CBD in the majestic natural beauty of the Dandenong Ranges.

Our Heritage

There has been a property located at Chestnut Hill from as early as the 1890s when Kallista was known as South Sassafras and was the holiday getaway destination of Melbourne's rich and famous.
Later, the Dandenongs became well known for it's abundance of fruit farms and the home of artists and writers of the age.
Chestnut Hill Lodge has a long and varied history and has always played its part in this wonderful Dandenong Ranges community.

Chestnut Hill Conference Lodge is nestled amongst majestic forests and manicured gardens away from the madding crowds of Melbourne and the suburbs.

It is situated in the Danedenong Ranges township of Kallista on the main Monbulk Road from Belgrave.

Chestnut Hill Conference Lodge offers budget group accommodation with meals.  Small businesses enjoy the Lodge exclusively.  It is a quiet hideaway in the hills to enable successful team projects.. 

Whatever the event, function or occasion, you will receive the same welcoming hospitality and excellence of service.

Chestnut Hill Conference Lodge is a family run business and we pride ourselves on being flexible and accommodating to the needs of our guests.

 

Small functions of up to 50 guests can enjoy the use of the dining room or living room.  Round tables of 10 or rectangular tables of 6 people are used with grey function seats and white tablecloths.

Special setups can be supplied if required, by quotation.

Upon arrival, our guests are welcomed into the Dining Room, with wide windows, a view of the forest, a pool table and a choice of teas/coffees. This is also where you will enjoy a delicious continental breakfast with hot selections and other meals.

There are two lounge areas that can be utilised. Guests are invited to take advantage of the downstairs Living Room with a cosy fireplace and a relaxing atmosphere or the smaller upstairs meeting room with comfortable chairs and a quiet space for reflection or conversation.

The Lodge incorporates 11 bedrooms of varying sizes, but most provide a spacious king bed and a set of bunks. The king bed can be separated to supply two single beds if preferred for group retreat style accommodation.

Each room has a private ensuite. Used primarily as a retreat centre for groups, we do not provide tvs or minibars in the bedrooms. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available in main function rooms.  There is no kitchenette.  Teas and coffees are available for the duration of your stay in the dining room.

We will be returning

We have just returned home after a wonderful weekend at Chestnut Hill Conference Centre with our craft group of 12 ladies. Our hosts Cathy and Rob were perfect hosts. Thanks heaps.  Meals were wholesome, homemade and plentiful.  The accommodation was fabulous..very relaxing. Value for money. Will be returning in the near future.

Highly recommended!

What an exceptional place!! If you need somewhere for a conference, retreat or perhaps a family reunion, this place is ideal. I have been holding a six day live in course training funeral celebrants since 2012, usually twice a year. Catherine and Robert, the hosts, could not make you more welcome. With 11 bedrooms (all with ensuites) they can accommodate up to 30 but mine is a maximum of 11, which means everyone has their own room and space. The meals are gourmet and plentiful, although my waistline does tend to expand further with each visit!  Cannot recommend this highly facility highly enough!!
